Ava graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in May of 2024 with a major in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. Originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota, she moved to Duluth in 2021 to further her education in one of her favorite places. Ava has experience working with children as she was employed through Sartell Community Ed’s childcare program the summer after graduating high school. She has also been coaching dance to children of all ages through Just For Kix for the past 4 years. Throughout her time at UMD, Ava gained a special interest in Trauma Informed Care, which led her to complete her internship at First Witness. As the True North AmeriCorps member at First Witness, Ava will be assisting the advocacy team in supporting children and families, as well as providing the community with proper tools to respond to concerns about body safety and the abuse of children. In her free time, Ava loves to read on her Kindle, explore the North Shore, and spend quality time with her family and friends.
