Taylor is from Prior Lake, Minnesota and moved to Duluth in 2021 to attend UMD, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in Psychology. During her freshman year, she was diagnosed with an illness that required her to take multiple semesters off from school. During this time, her interactions with social workers inspired her to shift her focus from psychology to pursuing a career in social work. Although she once planned to study clinical psychology to become a therapist, she soon realized her passion lies in hands-on work that directly supports and empowers children in getting the help they need and truly deserve. As she deepened her understanding through her social work courses, her passion for working with children grew stronger, ultimately leading her to choose First Witness Child Advocacy Center as the place to complete her practicum.
Outside of UMD and First Witness, Taylor enjoys spending her fall and winter weekends watching football. Coming from a big football family, the sport has always been special to her—GO DUCKS! Along with that, she spends her free time hanging out with her friends and, because she loves animals (especially cats), she is also a petsitter!
