Ava Scheffler

Ava Scheffler
Ava’s role here at First Witness Child Advocacy Center, is a Family Advocate and Trainer. Ava has been with First Witness since she graduated in May of 2024. Ava received her education at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where she gained a bachelor’s degree in criminology, with a minor in psychology. It is during her time at UMD that Ava discovered a passion for trauma-informed care. It is important to Ava that she uses her knowledge and experiences to best support families who are navigating systems after a disclosure of child maltreatment. Ava also provides prevention education to children from Pre-K to 6th grade, in both a classroom setting, and one-on-one. The part Ava adores most about her job, is the endless opportunities to connect with others, hear their stories, and guide them towards a place of healing.
In her free time, Ava enjoys reading on her Kindle, spending time with her loved ones, and coaching dance at a local dance studio!
