Originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota, Ava moved to Duluth in 2021 to further her education in one of her favorite places. Ava graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in May of 2024 with a major in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. Throughout her time at UMD, Ava gained a special interest in Trauma Informed Care and Restorative Justice practices. She completed her internship with First Witness in the Summer of 2024 and shortly after, served as First Witness’s True North AmeriCorps member. In this role, Ava specialized in child abuse prevention education. Her passion for helping children and families has only grown and continues to transpire in her work as an advocate at First Witness.
In her free time, Ava loves to read on her Kindle, explore the North Shore, and coach dance at Just for Kix dance studio here in Duluth.
