Sarah moved to Duluth from St. Paul to study at UMD. During their time at school, they studied computer science for the first year and didn’t think it would be a great fit. That’s when they found criminology and psychology and fell in love with it. While studying criminology, they became a TA for one of their criminology courses and spent much time researching things like what can be implemented today that would reduce recidivism. Sarah has a great interest in combining criminology and psychology in order to help understand the nuances and complexities of why crimes are committed and how they affect people.
During their spare time, Sarah likes to wind down by playing video games with friends or watching their favorite sport, hockey. They also like to go skateboarding/longboarding down the lake walk in Canal Park or up to Brighton Beach and spend some time by the water. Sarah is very excited to be here at First Witness and is eager to learn and have new experiences.
