Natural Connections: Plant Magic!4:30 pm - 6:00 pmWelcome to our Natural Connections Series! This environmental literacy program has seasonal activities designed to help youth explore and develop their relationships with our plant and animal community members.Did you know that many of the plants we call “weeds” that grow in lawns have “magical” healing powers? In this third session in the series participants will get to know some common plants and the ways that they have been used as medicines since time immemorial, and gain an appreciation of the gifts that nature provides that are all around us! Participants will go on a plant walk to get to know some of the plants in the library garden, make a healing lip balm with wild harvested plant medicine, taste test and create their own herbal elixir, and do some nature-crafting!This meeting in the Natural Connections series is geared towards ages 8 and up.
