For grades K-2. Join us to use all our senses to experience an Ojibwe fall tradition with Megan Lhotka. Participants will utilize sensory bins to explore dry and wet concepts and develop scientific hypothesis about wild rice. Participants will explore leaves and language, creating a collage with fall colors in Ojibwemowin. We'll be creating art using sharpies and paint, so please dress for the mess!
Megan (Miinanikwe) Lhotka is a descendant of the White Earth Band of Pembina Ojibwe in Northwest MN. As the Cultural Liaison for the Center of American Indian and Minority Health. In her role, through collaboration with the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Medica Foundation, Miinanikwe supports Indigenous youth of the White Earth Reservation gain interests in health and science careers. Miinaikwe is a medicine keeper who shares her knowledge and continues her learning through language and community.
