The Urgency of Intersectionality

Kimberlé Crenshaw coined the term ‘intersectionality’ in 1989. Intersectionality is the concept that multiple different social characterizations, such as race and gender, interconnect to create different forms of discrimination and privilege. Crenshaw goes into further detail about this in this TED Talk.
