About Customized Training
First Witness Child Advocacy Center (CAC) can provide in-person or online training to meet your customized needs. Whether you are looking for prevention education, multidisciplinary team development, advanced advocacy training, or advanced forensic interview training, we will work with you to design a training solution for your organization or team.
Prevention
Safe and Strong Child© body safety curriculum is aligned with evidence-informed best practices for child sexual abuse prevention. First Witness offers a Train the Trainer course that prepares participants to implement a child abuse prevention program in their communities.
First Witness CAC offers Safe and Strong Communities presentations to organizations and groups across the northland and beyond. We provide training to adults in youth-serving agencies, churches, sports leagues, and beyond. Participants learn how to recognize, respond, and report child abuse.
Multidisciplinary Team Development
Our trainers facilitate the development and re-organization of multidisciplinary teams to strengthen the response to child abuse reports. Your team will work with trainers prior to training to customize an agenda based on the unique needs of your community and the team.
Advanced Advocacy
For advocates who have completed the initial Training for Advocates Working With a Child Advocacy Center, First Witness CAC offers several advanced topics. Some options include Porn, Let’s Talk About It, No Offense, But Don’t Offend the Non-Offending Caregiver, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, and Teen Dating Violence: A MDT approach. We can also work with you to develop other advanced topics to address your state chapter or agency needs.
Advanced Forensic Interviewing
Experienced forensic interviewers can gain new knowledge and expertise and join with other skilled professionals to advance their craft. Advanced topics include: Interviewing LGBTQIA+ Youth, Interviewing Victims of Trafficking and Internet Crimes, Defending the Forensic Interview in Court, Interviewing Witnesses to Domestic Violence, and more.
