Jess graduated in December of 2022 from the College of St. Scholastica with a humanities degree, with concentrations in communications, English, and history. She just completed her first year of law school at Northern Illinois University and has plans to specialize in family law and work with children after obtaining her license. Prior to starting at First Witness, Jess interned at the Carlton County Attorney’s Office, which is where she first became interested in working with families in the legal system, particularly those impacted by domestic violence. She also has experience working with children, including being a youth basketball and volleyball coach for three years, and babysitting her young cousins. In her free time, Jess enjoys hiking along Lake Superior, reading, cooking, and playing volleyball.
