Sophia just joined the team and is finishing her studies at the University of Minnesota-Duluth coming Summer 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Minors in Sociology and Communication. She then plans to take a gap year and continue her studies by obtaining her Master’s degree of some kind. Sophia grew up in Duluth and has always been around children of many different environments. Some include daycare, working as a nanny for families around the area, and coaching girls’ dance team at a local high school. Her coursework in Victimology and Restorative Justice sparked a passion for working with children and families. Sophia is excited to be a part of First Witness and to continue strengthening her skills and passion for preventing child abuse. On the side, she also enjoys cooking, downhill skiing, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.
